THE SUPER BOWL is still over 10 days away but it looks like American football fever is already hitting the West as Mayo have announced that two-time AllStar Aidan O’Shea is set to join an NFL team.

We can confirm @AIDOXI is heading to the NFL as part of @AIB_GAA's #TheToughest documentary. Don't worry he won't be away for long. #mayogaa
However, the county also confirmed that O’Shea won’t miss any Allianz National Football League games with the forward flying out after his side play Dublin next week and returning before the next game.
O’Shea is the latest GAA star to switch codes for ‘The Toughest’ and follows in the footsteps of Jackie Tyrrell (baseball), Aaron Kernan (soccer) and Brendan Maher who travelled to Australia to try his hand at cricket earlier this year.
It’s not yet clear which team O’Shea will end up but, with his build, he could well do a job at tight end.
